nettle
stinging nettle
Nettle is thought of as a tonic for its high vitamin and mineral content. Nettle's actions may also be antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and may have analgesic properties. Nettle also supports the cardiovascular system.
Because nettle is nutrient dense it is considered skin food. The minerals and antioxidants support and nourish our skin from the inside out. The high vitamin c and silica content may
support collagen synthesis and skin repair.
Nettle is considered a natural anti-histamine, it contains compounds (like quercetin and other flavonoids) that may block histamine receptors and reduce the amount of histamine released in the body — which is the key driver of allergy symptoms like itching, swelling, and sneezing.
Nettle increases urine output while decreasing the uric acid plasma levels. The diuretic action of Nettle makes it useful in those dealing with; fluid, retention, eczema, certain skin disorders, arthritis with swollen joints, gout, and congestive heart disease.

vodka
calendula
A well-known versatile herb in western herbal medicine. These bright orange flowers are often used in topical applications such as salves and ointments, but did you know calendula is used to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid.
Calendula supports the movement of lymph which enables better detoxification from the tissues and cells.
Here are a few more potential benefits of calendula.
Antimicrobial & Antifungal
Calendula’s natural antimicrobial properties help prevent infection and support a healthy skin microbiome.
Boosts Collagen Production
It may help improve skin firmness and elasticity by supporting collagen synthesis and reducing oxidative stress.
Hydrating & Nourishing
Calendula helps maintain skin hydration, especially when used in oil-based preparations such as salves, or teas that support skin from within.
tulsi
holy basil
Tulsi is a highly prized Ayurvedic herb. Not just for its spiritual significance, but for its medicinal properties as well.
Here’s why Tulsi is a skin-loving powerhouse:
✨ 1. Natural Detoxifier
Tulsi helps cleanse the body of toxins, which can result in clearer skin. Its internal detox effects reduce the burden on your liver and kidneys. The liver plays a vital role in skin clarity, thus being crucial to support the liver for clear, radiant skin.
🔥 2. Anti-Inflammatory + Calming
Skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis are often driven by an overburden liver and inflammation. Tulsi contains compounds like eugenol and ursolic acid, which have strong anti-inflammatory properties that can calm irritated skin.
🛡️ 3. Fights Acne-Causing Bacteria
Research suggests Tulsi has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties that help fight acne-causing bacteria like Propionibacterium acnes. This makes Tulsi an effective natural remedy for those struggling with persistent breakouts.
🌞 4. Rich in Antioxidants
Environmental stressors like pollution and UV exposure leads to premature aging. Tulsi is packed with antioxidants, which help combat oxidative stress, reduce fine lines, and keep your skin looking youthful, radiant and resilient.
Pro tip: Regular consumption of Tulsi tea can support your body’s overall antioxidant levels, while Tulsi-infused skincare protects against environmental damage.
💧 5. Balances Oil Production
Tulsi helps regulate sebum production, making it beneficial for both oily and combination skin types. It works to keep pores clear and skin balanced — without overdrying.
