This ensures every ingredient is vibrant, fresh, and responsibly gathered.

Allergy-Aware Formulation

We understand that finding safe products can be challenging for those with sensitivities. That's why we take extra steps to create a truly worry-free experience:

  • Food Allergy Safety: Our recipes are consciously crafted by a real food allergy mom, to be free from common food allergens like peanuts, gluten, and dairy. This allows individuals with sensitivities to safely enjoy the nourishing benefits of our herbal blends. You can rest assured our ingredient list will always list any potential top 9 allergy.

Valerian.

Most of you have heard our herbalist rant, rave, and even crack jokes about the valerian officinalis (one of the herbalist's favorite herbs), but let us introduce you to the herbalist's second favorite valerian, valerian wallichii.

While both are used for relaxing the central nervous system and soothing chronic inflammation, their distinct chemical compositions mean they may have slightly different pharmacological effects or potencies depending on the specific preparation and dosage.

Primarily used in Ayurvedic medicine for a wide range of neurological, psychological, and digestive disorders, including insomnia, epilepsy, skin disorders, and as a nervine.

Wild Lettuce.

Wild lettuce has been used since medicinally since Ancient Egypt for insomnia and pain.

In the 16th Century, herbalist John Gerard extensively wrote on Wild Lettuce and its many uses. From sleep, to pain, including women's menstrual cycles and the pain that often accompanied them. Gerard also claims that people would drink wild lettuce after spider bites to help with the symptoms that accompanied the bite.

Devil's Claw.

Used in South Africia for centuries for pain. This plant has beautiful flowers above ground. When the root of this plant is harvested and dried it looks like the claw hook from the vending machine games we begged our parents to play as children.

The root of the Devil's Claw plant contains active compounds, primarily iridoid glycosides like harpagoside, which are believed to be responsible for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Today, Devil's Claw is commonly used in herbal teas, supplements, and topical treatments to soothe conditions such as arthritis, back pain, and headaches.

This plant is related to the sesame family, please use caution if you have a food allergy.

Safflower.

Safflower is related to saffron. Luckily for us safflower is more widely available, more affordable, and produces similar like effects as its family member Saffron. Let's dive into some potential benefits of safflower together.

Modern Antidepressant/Anxiolytic Potential: In Western Herbalism, safflower and saffron are often recommended for those who are experiencing melancholy, or depression. Although the studies are done on animals, here's one study showing its potential.

Serotonergic and Dopaminergic Effects: Pre-clinical studies (on animals) indicate that safflower petal extract may have antianxiety and antidepressant-like effects. It appears to modulate neurotransmitter systems, specifically interacting with dopaminergic and serotonergic systems (which are key targets for modern antidepressant drugs).

Traditional Use for "Melancholy: Safflower has a history of use in traditional medicine systems for addressing emotional distress, anxiety, and a state referred to as "melancholy humor."

In TCM, safflower is a powerful herb used to invigorate blood and dispel blood stasis (stagnation). Pain in TCM is often attributed to the stagnation of Qi (energy) or Blood. By promoting circulation, safflower is believed to alleviate this stagnation, thereby soothing pain.

Peppermint.

Peppermint is a natural analgesic rich in menthol, which provides a cooling sensation that helps dull the perception of physical pain. It works quickly to relax tension in the muscles and soothe the nervous system, making it ideal for headaches and localized discomfort

Spearmint.

A restorative herb known for its ability to quiet muscle contractions and soothe the nervous system. Spearmint’s unique chemical profile provides a cooling effect that is less aggressive than peppermint, making it ideal for sustained relief of tension-based discomfort.

menstruum.

truly gluten free.

We use 100% potato vodka in our alcohol based herbal extracts. Meaning they are truly gluten free from start to finish. Making our tinctures one of the few brands on the market that is completely safe for those with food allergies and celiac disease.
