THE NIGHTCAP TINCTURE

A little R-n-R never hurt anyone! Relax and recharge with our verison of The Nightcap Tincture.

Our synergistic blend combines the bioactive and bioavailable properties of herbal nervines such as Califorina poppy, milky oats, passionflower, and chamomile. Then the herbalist adds tinctured fresh tart cherries and magnesium bisglycinate. This powerful combination works to promote better quality sleep, better sleep duration, ease muscle tension, while working to soothe and calm the nervous system, (and the racy scattered thoughts that often accompany an overtaxed central nervous system).

  • Ingredients

(1:2 40%) California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica), Milky Oat Tops (Avena sativa), Passionflower (Pasiflora), Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), fresh tart cherry, magnesium bisglycinate powder, certified gluten free vodka, six times distilled gluten free vodka.

Each BOTTLE contains 500MG of Tart Cherry, and 200MG of magnesium bisglycinate. The main stars of the show in the tincture, are the bioactive compounds inside the herbs. ca poppy

California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica),

Golden poppy has been used by our ancestors since prehistoric times. This gentle, yet safe herb offers relaxing effects that may benefit you during times of stress and anxiety.

Modern herbalists reach for CA poppy when working with clients who are experiencing muscle aches, stress, insomnia, restlessness, headaches, and grief.

Research suggests that the constituents inside CA poppy may bind to the GABA-A receptors and therefore, may produce sedative like effects.

Milky Oat Tops (Avena sativa)

Our herbalist chose oat straw and the milky oat tops for the fresh, earthy flavor it brings. She originally fell in love with Avena sativa when studying Eclectic medicine, their uses were endless. Lauren began growing, harvesting, and wildcrafting avena sativa to use for herself as a tonic. She believes it brings comfort to overworked, muscles, and "the always on the go, with the minds that tend to worry over spilt milk."

Avena sativa is considered a nutritive meaning it is loaded with micro minerals that are nourishing to the body in many different ways.

Our herbalist uses oat straw and milky oat tops to blend what we call in herbalism an adaptogen and gentle nervine together to bring the body, the full plant effect.

We believe that milky oat top constituents may tend to have more of an supportive effect to the central nervous system; more quickly, while oat straw is nourshing with micro minerals that may overtime, support a better stress response if consumed regularly.

Passionflower (Passiflora)

Passionflower is an herbal nervine. Its primary claim to fame lies in its ability to settle scattered, racy thoughts and calm the mind before bed. The bioactive constituents inside passionflower that are responsbile for this affect is alkaloids, and other compounds that interact with GABA receptors int he brain. Which, has beeen shown in research to promote relaxation.

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)

Chamomile tea has long been a bedtime staple for those seeking a restful night's sleep. But how exactly does this soothing herb work its magic? Let's explore the science behind chamomile's sleep-promoting properties.

Apigenin: The Key Player

Chamomile contains a flavonoid called apigenin, which binds to GABA receptors in the brain. GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate sleep, relaxation, and anxiety. Not to mention apigenin is a very expensive OTC supplement. Sometimes its blended with other minerals such as magnesium and sold for over 120.00 for a 30 day supply! Why not just use chamomile?

Apigenin's interaction with GABA receptors may:
Reduce anxiety and stress: By calming the mind and body, chamomile makes it easier to fall asleep.
Promote relaxation: Apigenin's sedative effects can help quiet the nervous system, preparing the body for sleep.
