Ocimum tenuiflorum
holy basil
A highly prized medicinal herb for over 3,000 years. Ancient cultures used holy basil to support respiratory distress, especially swollen airways with mucus. Ancient cultures also used tulsi in rituals like burning the plant to promote positive energy and remove negative spirits.
Research suggests that tulsi may help modulate stress response through metabolic pathways such as, normalization of blood glucose, blood pressure, and lipid levels.
These positive effects from tusli may support cognitive function, enhance memory.
Eugenol and ursolic acid in Tulsi works to lower the level of cortisol and help to reduce stress and stress-related problems like heart diseases. Tulsi also has antioxidant property which prevents cardiac lipid peroxidation.
Holy basil's volatile oils work to deter mosquitos naturally. Bruise fresh leaves and rub against skin to deter from insects.

vodka
the solvent
We use six times distilled, organic, certified gluten free Vodka as the solvent to extract the medicinal constituents from our Holy Basil.
Vodka is often used in tincture making because it is tasteless and contains no additional ingredients.
