After reading a study published by the nation’s top leading scientists, it got me thinking, is ivermectin as safe as we have been told? I believe that is a fair and valid question after the past two years. After all, it took TWO YEARS for information about remdesivir to come out to the public. Let’s not forget that Pfizer coordinated their document release after the general public had lined up for the ‘life saving vaccine’ created under operation warp-speed during President Donald Trump’s term.
What is Ivermectin?
Ivermectin (/ˌaɪvərˈmɛktɪn/, EYE-vər-MEK-tin) is an antiparasitic drug. After its discovery in 1975, its first uses were in veterinary medicine to prevent and treat heartworm and acariasis. Approved for human use in 1987, today it is used to treat infestations including head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis. It works through many mechanisms to kill the targeted parasites, and can be taken orally, or applied to the skin for external infestations. It belongs to the avermectin family of medications.
Does Ivermectin have side effects?
Are there any known drug interactions with Ivermectin?
Have adverse effects been reported while on ivermectin?
Can ivermectin break the blood brain barrier?
While there is conflicting information online, yes, ivermectin can in fact break the blood brain barrier. If you or your animal have a mutated MDR-1 gene, if you take certain medications while taking ivermectin, or if you are allergic to any of the active or inactive ingredients. In one case ivermectin was found in brain tissue 14 days AFTER the last dose, autopsy confirmed. Food for thought, HCQ also breaks the blood brain barrier.
Can ivermectin cause cytotoxic effects in some cases?
Yes, a study from science direct shows that in some cases ivermectin can cause a ‘cytotoxic storm’ resulting in far worse damage that is irreversible, such as cellular damage, and dna damage, which if you remember Pfizer did admit that their vaccine also alters you at a cellular and dna level.
What is a cytotoxic storm?
A cytokine storm, also called hypercytokinemia, is a physiological reaction in humans and other animals in which the innate immune system causes an uncontrolled and excessive release of pro-inflammatory signaling molecules called cytokines.
Neurological adverse events?
In 2018 the NIH released a study that serious neurological adverse events have been reported from large scale community-based ivermectin treatment campaigns against Onchocerciasis volvulus in Africa. The mechanism of these events has been debated in the literature, largely focusing on the role of concomitant infection with Loa loa versus the presence of mdr-1 gene variants in humans allowing ivermectin penetration into the central nervous system.
Recent study released questions if ivermectin is safe.
A study published by the New England Journal of Medicine reported that toxic effects from ivermectin use are associated with the prevention and treatment of covid-19. The Oregon Poison Center is a telephone consultative center staffed by specialty-trained nurses, pharmacists, and physicians who provide treatment advice for the public and comprehensive treatment consultation for health care workers caring for patients in Oregon, Alaska, and Guam. The center has recently received an increasing number of calls regarding ivermectin exposure related to Covid-19. The rate of calls regarding ivermectin had been 0.25 calls per month in 2020 and had increased to 0.86 calls per month from January through July 2021; in August 2021, the center received 21 calls. Monthly total call volumes for all poison exposures were stable throughout 2020 and 2021.
Of the 21 persons who called in August, 11 were men, and most were older than 60 years of age (median age, 64; range, 20 to 81). Approximately half (11 persons) were reported to have used ivermectin to prevent Covid-19, and the remaining persons had been using the drug to treat Covid-19 symptoms. Three persons had received prescriptions from physicians or veterinarians, and 17 had purchased veterinary formulations; the source of ivermectin for the remaining person was not confirmed. Symptoms had developed in most persons within 2 hours after a large, single, first-time dose. In 6 persons, symptoms had developed gradually after several days to weeks of repeated doses taken every other day or twice weekly. One person had also been taking vitamin D to treat or prevent Covid-19. Reported doses ingested by the persons who had been using veterinary products ranged from 6.8 mg to 125 mg of 1.87% paste and 20 to 50 mg of the 1% solution. The dose of the human-use tablets was 21 mg per dose twice weekly for prevention.
Six of the 21 persons were hospitalized for toxic effects from ivermectin use; all 6 reported preventive use, including the 3 who had obtained the drug by prescription. Four received care in an intensive care unit, and none died. Symptoms were gastrointestinal distress in 4 persons, confusion in 3, ataxia and weakness in 2, hypotension in 2, and seizures in 1. Of the persons who were not admitted to a hospital, most had gastrointestinal distress, dizziness, confusion, vision symptoms, or rash.
These cases illustrate the potential toxic effects of ivermectin, including severe episodes of confusion, ataxia, seizures, and hypotension, and the increasing frequency of inappropriate use. There is insufficient evidence to support the use of ivermectin to treat or prevent Covid-19, and improper use, as well as the possible occurrence of medication interactions, may result in serious side effects requiring hospitalization.
Does your medication interfere with ivermectin?
Ivermectin interferes with 82 known drugs. Check to see if any of the medications you take interfere with ivermectin here.
While I am no doctor, something isn’t adding up here. How can ivermectin be promoted as a wonder drug for all, in the prevention and treatment of covid-19 if the side effects are worse than a virus with a 99.9888% chance of survival? Let’s hope that Merck (manufacturer of ivermectin, the vaccine, and the covid-19 pill, Molnupiravir.) doesn’t release 22 pages of documents apologizing for how it’s not safe for all and how they failed to mention if you have the MDR-1 gene, take certain medications, or have pre-existing conditions you cannot safely take ivermectin, for any reason. Let’s not forget it took two years for the side effects of remdesivir to make headlines, a drug touted by President Donald Trump as life saving, when we now know it causes far worse side effects like decreased oxygen and kidney failure.
Food for thought
While advancements in technology and western medicine have been proven to be life saving in serious emergencies, we must remember this is not a one size fits all.
Ivermectin was approved for human use in 1987 – ivermectin has only been used for 35 years in humans.
Herbalism also known as traditional medicine and ayurvedic medicine has been serving mankind safely for over 6,000 years
